Removable Prosthetics (Dentures/Partials)
Dr. Wilke and Dr. Conti offer many years of experience in the field of removable prosthetics. They are real experts when it comes to removable prosthetics and have developed an extensive patient base who only asked for this type of treatment. Removable prosthetics are one of the options to replace missing teeth. Depending on the situation, removable partial dentures can be made with acrylic material or with a metallic frame. Complete dentures are used to replace all teeth in one or both arches.
Dr. Wilke and Dr. Conti will take impressions of your upper and lower arches. From start to finish, the can can be completed in as little as 4 appointments. All the appliances are custom made. With the supplement of dental implants, we are able to make better fitting dentures that virtually eleminate the loose feeling many patients experience.
Dentures (Partials) are not designed to last forever and over time they will wear-down or even break during normal wear. We recommend regular dental visits even though there are no teeth.
Complete dentures can replace missing teeth and - your - admired smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit appearance and health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older.
Dr. Wilke and Dr. Conti take measurements and make models of the patient’s jaws during a preliminary visit. Even if you wear full dentures, you still must take good care of your mouth. We recommend to you to brush your gums, tongue and palate every morning with a soft-bristled brush before you insert your dentures to stimulate circulation in your tissues and help remove plaque.
There are various types of complete dentures. A conventional full denture is made and placed in the patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several months. An immediate complete denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. You will never need to be without teeth during this healing process.
